Moon Dirt
Bianca R. Ambrosino

Scuffle & scoot

in the Moon dirt, wry children

Tumbling in the patches of shadow

& grass

Night laughter ringing over

dinner

bells in the backyard

off the stone patio

Drawing maps with peeling bark sticks

in the Moon dirt

that can't be read in the daylight

& then scooping up the spot

where the x was

into an old jelly jar

to keep the glowing, under the bed

for the darkly nights

that are moonless

Bianca Ambrosino is a somewhat reclusive poet from Richmond, Virginia. Her sensory based, Autistic perspective illuminates universal themes with startling connections and vivid synesthesia. She spends her time writing, walking outside, raising her children, and reading countless academic papers/ scientific publications (for fun). Her poetry appears in Hawaii Pacific Review, AAWP: Meniscus, NonBinary Review, and elsewhere.
