A Then-Less Hypothesis Written While High on Oxygen
Matt Zambito

if a seagull began flying in my eye: if

I saw leafy greens eating dirt like erosion seems to: if

the ground explained away rain: if

those bunny-fluffy clouds only told old jokes: if

most clowns died in a pile of oversized shoehorns: if

children lived off their innocent, ignorant tears: if

knowledge warmed like a pair of experienced mittens: if

the snow falling fell further still: if

the hail falling fell further yet: if

falling felt like rising with sun-love: if

waking felt like hungering after aphrodisiacs: if

I could chew on sex like a cow on cud: if

you would just feed my eyes until the finish: if

you would feed my eyes some foxy spinach
